Standardized Testing

Standardized Testing Week

Students in Grades K–8 will begin their Standardized Testing this week.

We begin to welcome students to enter the building promptly at 8:00 a.m. in order to ensure testing can begin on time.

It is important that your child be here on time.

  • If your child arrives after testing has begun, he/she will need to wait in the office until the first section of testing is done; he/she will then be admitted to the classroom.

Traffic and accidents are unexpected; it is best to allow extra travel time and leave earlier than usual during this week.

There is no “make-up” if your child misses a portion of the standardized testing. On the parent report you receive over the summer, there will be no score(s) for the section(s) missed.

  • How can you help your child be prepared?

  • Make sure he/she has a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast.

  •  Dress in layers if it is cool in the morning; it may warm up!

  • Tell your child to do his/her best and pray with him/her before school. Your confidence is contagious!

  • If your child takes medication before school, please be sure it is taken each morning.

Students have been taking practice tests this week in grades K-5, so that they know what to expect next week.

Please reassure your child that this test is looking at how we are doing as a school. They are, in a sense, grading their teachers; no need to worry at all! Let us know if you have any questions.
