Love Others
Embrace the individual. We are all imperfect, full of blemishes. Want to know a great testament? We are made whole in our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible reads in 2 Corinthians verse 17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and the new has come." What a great verse that truly emphasizes being born again in faith. Do you walk around in your everyday travels with "God eyes," or do you get caught up acting more like a Pharisee, holier than thou?
If you recall the post I wrote earlier this year, 'Child of God,' He makes all of us unique in our own ways and knows our hearts. The Bible tells us in many passages that Jesus showed mercy to individuals the rest of the community would not take the time to help, such as the adulteress, Lazarus the leper, and tax collectors, among many others.
In James 8:1-11, he challenges those with holier-than-thou attitudes. Verse 7 Jesus says, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." No one is able to cast a stone. Later in verse 11, Jesus declares, "Go now and leave your life of sin." Jesus was able to see this woman's heart and show her forgiveness, teaching her to follow biblical truth.
We will always live in a broken world because of Adam and Eve's sin. Faith in Jesus is what gets us to be whole. The people who struggle day in and day out may have many different looks. One person may mask it well, while another may try to deal with their sin and brokenness through substance abuse. Another individual may have made other poor choices that reflect poorly on them. No worldly thing will ever fill the void; a relationship with Jesus and acknowledging his sacrifice at the cross is what gives victory.
As children of God, we should desire to be disciples and lead more individuals to victory. In 1 John 5:4, the Bible reads, "for everyone born of God overcomes the world." This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. We should encourage others who may be downtrodden in their faith and lift them up to continue their walk and grow daily in faith.
I encourage you to have a WWJD attitude with a fresh set of God eyes. What the world needs now is love, sweet love, and that sweet love is found in Jesus!
